Adapt a New Attitude

I now hang out only with confident people

I now hang out only with confident people

I spent most of my time wishing I could change the way I look, but I couldn't; my cousins knew about my insecurities and they kept on telling me how ugly I was, until I totally lost my self confidence.

I was frequently angry and used to lock myself in my room. One day one of my cousins came in to my room and teased me, and I cried like I never did before; and since then my life changed, and those tears washed away all my insecurities. I'm now confident. And hanging out with confident dudes and chicks in my class has helped me a lot coz I ended up just as confident as they were.

Editor's Note:

Hi Wisdom, it's great that you have overcome your insecurities and are on your way to greater confidence and better self esteem. Yes, sometimes all it takes to get there is an emotional outburst strong enough to wash out all previous insecurities, as you have put it, and as has happened in your case when your cousin pushed you over the edge in your room.

It must be mentioned that for many unfortunate folks, such a bullying may just have the opposite effect that descends them further into the gloom of self pity and anger. In your case, it just had the opposite effect, and you have come out a more determined person that looks to have resolved NOT to be a victim of such insecurities anymore in the future. That speaks a lot of the spirit inside you.. and you deserve a full Kudos for taking everything in the right spirit.

You are also taking the right steps in joining hands and forming friendships with confident people around you.. that's an excellent move, and your positive outlook shows. You know now that it doesn't matter how you think you look, you are a beautiful person in the inside.

Congratulations on taking the first steps in embarking into your journey of self confidence and self reliance, and I wish you success as you progress along this wonderful path. In fact, I know that you will succeed, and have a bright and happy future ahead.
