An athlete as an inspiring life mentor

by Stas
(Waterloo)

Golf a passion and Golf legend an inspiring mentor

Golf a passion and Golf legend an inspiring mentor

Here is my story of having an athlete as a self improvement and motivation guide for life.

I took up playing golf in my first year of high school and it quickly became my passion. Like all kids I looked up to Tiger Woods, who was just beginning to dominate the PGA Tour.

The more I studied him, the more I learned about his persona off the golf course and his character began to fascinate me both in sport and real life. He became my idol, and I started to emulate his beliefs for myself. I even took up his personal creed of "Care and Share", which has always reminded that if I love something I should share it with the world.

Although now that I have grown up I don't get the opportunity to play golf daily anymore, but Tiger Woods still remains a role model in my life. He inspires me to set my goals high because with the right amount of dedication and love, anything is possible.

Whether you think you can or you can’t, you’re right. I translated this into my Real Estate career and personal life and have developed a great work ethic. He also reminds me of the importance of giving back, which has helped me become a more open-minded person and look towards helping others. It has become a lot less about the money, but more about being the best me that I can be.

Motivation can become a beautiful thing, and can come from different places. I realize the difference Tiger Woods made in my life, and want to do the same by helping other in life.

Motivation does come from different places..
by: admin

Very well said, Stas. Although I don't remember having a role role model myself while growing up, I draw inspiration from several people who were just ordinary folks, but managed to trudge their way to heights by persistence, grit and this little thing we call self confidence.

"Whether you think you can or you can't, you're right" is the perfect way to put it, although I thought that was Henry Ford who first said it - I could be wrong.

Good wishes with your Real Estate career, and I am sure with your ideas of being the best you that you could be, you will achieve all you ever wanted and more.

My saying
by: Don Perry

This is a nice story. Your saying is similar to mine. I said "With the right motivation and dedication, anything is possible". And I thought i came with that myself.
