My friend inspired me to take my studies seriously
Here is a self improvement and motivation snippet from my life. I believe that there are some incidents in life which can change our whole life, or they affect our thinking and behavior. Few years back when I was doing my college, I was very careless. I didn’t care for anything, not even for my health and studies.
My friends were very rich, or you can say I liked to make rich guys my friends. They all use to drink wine, whiskey and smoke cigarettes. I also started drinking and smoking. I was so indulged in all of this, that my studies were totally stopped. My school friend Jack always told me to cut down on all this. But, I used to consider him down-market and old fashioned. He was very studious and helpful. But, I was busy in making new bad habits. My attendance in classes was also very poor. Jack always told me to slow down on extra-curricular habits and start studying. But, I never listened.
After few months our time-table came for the examination. When I saw it I was totally shocked and feeling helpless. I couldn’t understand what to do? It was impossible for me to cover whole syllabus in just one month. I was a good student, but I was not studying at all. I thought my rich friends will help me. But I was wrong! They all arranged some way out for themselves, as they were rich and powerful.
I was totally shocked with their behavior and negligence. Then my friend Jack came to me and showed me the mirror. When I realized my mistake, I was feeling very shy and sorry. That day I promised him to leave all bad habits and bad friends. He really helped me a lot, and motivated me to continue my studies. I gave my exam and got good marks. Today I am an Engineer, but I give all the credit to my friend. We are Friends Forever!
