Anxiety when driving on a bridge

Anxiety when driving on a bridge

Thank you for all this helpful information.

I have had anxiety problems since age 5, and in my late 20s it was really bad. I am much better now due to medication (although I would try natural remedies) and knowledge. I learned all I could about the condition and how to help myself. Sometimes when approaching a bridge I started feeling very anxious; I was afraid I would not be able to drive over it. I learned to focus on something else - I would turn on the radio and sing, and it did work. My mind was focused on the song and the anxiety level goes down.

Thanks for letting me share.

Natural methods for anxiety
by: admin

You are very welcome, Jeanette.

I am glad you found a way to deal with your driving anxiety. You are right, medication does help. But it should not be a permanent solution for most anxiety situations. Natural methods can work for a lot of people, but many are either not aware or are reluctant to try them for various reasons. I frequently get posts in this column from people who have tried various natural methods successfully. You can browse through other people's experiences, or read about common natural anxiety treatments listed on this site. I hope they will be of some help to you.

Your tip of turning on the radio and singing is a good one. Thanks, Jeanette, for sharing your thoughts here.
