memory booster question 1
Is there any vitamin to help with memory problems?

B Vitamins (B12, B6, Niacin, Folic acid) are the closest to "memory vitamins" you can get. Foods that contain these essentials are bread, whole-grain cereals, egg, milk, potatoes and bananas. Vitamin C is also a good memory booster - berries, citrus fruits and green, leafy vegetables contain those antioxidants.

You can also take them as vitamin supplements in addition to these foods, or try other supplements like Gingko.

memory booster question 2
How can I forget a bad memory?

Anytime the bad recollection from the past creeps back, let it come to a natural pause or end; as soon as you possible can after that, make it a habit to try to switch your thoughts to some other pleasing recollection, either from the past, or even a future event that you look forward to.

It is probably not possible to force away a bad memory, or just wish it away. But in long run as you let the time pass by, a lot of times it automatically de-sensitizes you a bit to the effect the negative thought has on you. You may even learn to accept it and move on.

memory booster question 3
How does oxygen, or lack of it, affect our mental faculties?

Oxygen seems to have a direct affect on memory. In fact that's why physical exercises are recommended as one of the ways to improve memory.

Because exercise sends blood to your brain, and more blood means more oxygen and better mental health.

improve memory question 4

Do almonds serve as a memory booster? How about blueberries?

Apparently, eating about 5 to 8 almonds a day on a consistent basis is known to improve memory.

Also, a couple of portions of blueberries a day can serve as a memory booster as well, by helping better your retention ability and reverse the forgetfulness of old age, based on a study.

improve memory question 5
Is it normal for your mind to blank out for a few seconds under pressure?

Yes that seems normal, if it just happened one time, or not too frequently. It is probably because under pressure, we may be trying to focus too much on what what we need to do or say; if we let our mind drift away to something else, the pressure is off, and things come naturally back to our mind again.

improve memory question 6
I studied through the night for a test, and slept only an hour. Will I forget everything I learned?

There is research that says you'll remember better what you study right before you go to bed. With no sensory interference during sleep, experts believe that the brain proceeds to organize and revise the day's information, and works on "storing" it into mind. But then, 7 to 9 hours of sleep is critical for healthy memory.

If you have just slept for an hour, chances are either you are so tired before going to bed that a lot of stuff you read may not have gotten past your short-term memory.

Or the lack of sufficient sleep may not help you recall stuff even if it did enter your long-term memory.
