Global Bhu Online Course Starting July 16 | Varanasi News

Varanasi: Indian Institute of Technology (BHU) Varanasi, IDAPT Hub Foundation of IIT (BHU) and National Institute of Industrial Engineering (NITIE) Mumbai have jointly launched an online global certification course on “ Data-Driven Supply Chain Transformation 2022” in collaboration with world-renowned expert in business and supply chain analytics and Director of Data Science Lab, Massachusetts Institute of Technology, USA. Professor David Simchi-Levi.
The Dean (R&D) of IIT(BHU), Prof. Vikas Kumar Dubey said the course will start from July 16 to August 21. The 30-hour course includes 12 sessions held each Saturday and Sunday, and each session will be 2.5 hours long and held online. At the end of the course, all registered participants will receive a certificate of completion. The course is exclusively organized to provide a roadmap for industry practitioners to understand the cardinal aspects of technology trends, digitalization, analytics and automation to reinvent the supply chain, a- he said, adding that it covers key logistics and supply chain planning concepts. including operations strategy, information value, supply chain segmentation and integration, supply chain resilience and flexibility, risk pooling and sharing strategies and design and supply chain network planning.
He added that the course emphasizes digital disruption, which is now motivating many companies in various industries to reinvent their supply chains, from demand and supply planning to production and distribution. . The goal is to apply business analytics to transform the way the organization runs its business, from manufacturing, supply chain, marketing and revenue optimization to understanding consumer preferences and innovation of new products.
The course aims to provide participants with an in-depth understanding of the use of technology to improve operational efficiency and improve decision-making in supply chains to accelerate the PM Gati Shakti Master Plan, which was launched on October 13, 2021 by Prime Minister Narendra Modi for the development of a holistic infrastructure to address multimodal and last mile connectivity issues related to supply chain and demand management.
NITIE is the nodal agency of the Gati Shakti program and IIT BHU is an associated institute, he added. According to him, the course will be taught by Professor David Simchi-Levi, MIT. Other experts, including the Director of IIT (BHU), Prof. Pramod Kumar Jain, and the Director of NITIE, Prof. MK Tiwari, will also participate in delivering some of the course content. The course will showcase Prof. Simchi-Levi’s unique framework that combines three technology trends – digitization, analytics, and automation. Professor David Simchi-Levi is the most renowned leading professor in the field of supply chain management. He is a recipient of the prestigious INFORMS Impact Prize 2020 for his work on supply chain resilience. Prof. Pramod Kumar Jain is an expert in industrial engineering while Prof. Manoj K Tiwari is a well-known expert in operations and supply chain management.
“The course will benefit students, academics, supply chain professionals and industry practitioners to develop a fundamental understanding of the digital transformation of supply chains,” said Professor Jain. The course mainly focuses on recent supply chain trends, digital supply chain transformation and machine learning-based technology, he added.
