KENOSHA — The Kenosha County Aging and Disability Resource Center is now accepting applications for its next Power Tools for Caregivers course, which is set to take place online.
Powerful Tools for Caregivers is a free six-week educational series designed by Stanford University, intended to teach skills on how to care for yourself while caring for a loved one. According to the organizers, the program helps caregivers reduce stress, improve their self-confidence, better communicate their feelings, balance their lives, increase their ability to make difficult decisions and find useful resources.
Online sessions are to be held from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. each Wednesday from March 9 to April 13. To participate, caregivers must have access to the internet and a computer, iPad or other tablet.
They will receive a brief phone call from the program manager before the first session on how to use the Zoom video conferencing program. Classes are now also offered in Spanish.
Registration is mandatory before Monday, March 7. To register, call 262-605-6646 or click the red register button at http://adrc.kenoshacounty.org.
