A 15-year-old boy was injured after his cell phone exploded while taking his online classes in Satna district, Madhya Pradesh, police said on Friday. The incident took place in the village of Chandkuiya, about 35 km from the district headquarters, on Thursday afternoon, they said.

The boy, Ramprakash Bhadauria, a grade 8 student, was attending school online when the cell phone suddenly exploded. He suffered a jaw injury, Nagod Police Station Inspector RP Mishra told PTI by telephone.

He was alone at his home when the incident happened because his parents and other family members had gone out to work. But the explosion created a sound so loud that the boy’s neighbors rushed to his house to see what had happened, the police official said.

He was then rushed to Satna District Hospital from where he was referred to Jabalpur for advanced treatment, he added.
